I saw Stone Temple Pilots at the Family Values concert last year and thought wow, those boys can write songs. Scott Weiland was really cool to hang out with. It wasn't sitting down with a guitar and starting from scratch, it was more like ‘Hey, I've got this idea, what do you reckon?’ Walls came out of that. - NZGirl.co.nz

Lyrics

On your own today
Lost with no direction
They took your dreams away
And stripped you of protection
But there's a light that won't burn out
In a heart that's screaming out

It doesn't matter where you are
There is life behind the walls around you
It doesn't matter where you start
Won't belong, won't belong
Until the walls around you are gone

On my own again
With open invitations
And the world I'm in
Is such a new sensation
But there's a light that won't burn out
In a heart that's screaming out

It doesn't matter where you are
There is life behind the walls around you
It doesn't matter where you start
Won't belong, won't belong
Until the walls around you are gone

It may be a path to glory
It may be a road to dust
And maybe there's one great story in all of us
