5 February 2012 - Another Gig
Bar Medusa has just said Shihad will be playing there on 17 Feb (https://www.facebook.com/barmedusa/posts/10150579738565912). That is the day before Homegrown, so given that I am guessing Homegrown is now sold out so thus they can announce the competing warmup gig. Tickets will be on sale on Thu at 9am.
5 February 2012 - Movie Release Date
By the looks the movie will be out thee 17 May as part of NZ Music Month and will be Shihad: Beautiful Machine.
More details for now http://www.flicks.co.nz/movie/shihad-beautiful-machine/: Shihad: Beautiful Machine
OPENING IN CINEMAS: 17th May 2012
Home-grown documentary about legendary Kiwi group Shihad, chronicling their two decade rise to greatness.
"NZ's most successful rock band took their dreams all the way to the giddy heights of the US music scene. A terrorist attack, ill-advised name-change and swift-talk managers saw those dreams fall apart at the seams in one fated moment in LA's notorious 'Viper Room'.
"After multiple best-selling albums and a bond that has endured for over 23 years this documentary examines the notions of family, loyalty and success for four friends that almost took the biggest music industry in the World by storm." (TheFilmCatalogue.com)
Starring John Toogood, Tom Larkin, Phil Knight, Karl Kippenberger
Directed by Sam Peacocke (feature debut)

Set just three kilometres from Whitianga town centre, the lush surrounds of Ohuka Farm will again play host to Coromandel Gold, this time over the 30th and 31st of December. Jamaican reggae legend Horace Andy & Dub Asante joins an all-star line-up including; Shapeshifter, Kora, Shihad, The Black Seeds, Ladi6, TrinityRoots, The Adults, The Nudge, 1814, Optimus Gryme ft. Tiki and The Upbeats - with another homegrown heavyweight still to be announced.

25 June 2011 - TGE Live @ The Powerstation August 2010 available for download
Radio NZ has place 50:38 of the The General Electric at the Powerstation up on their site. Also listen at 4pm to hear what else they say ahead of time, as this download is purely the gig. I haven't listened the whole way through yet so don't know if the encores are there or not.
25 June 2011 - Reminder - Live @ The Powerstation August 2010 will be played on Radio NZ
Just a reminder as this is coming up this weekend.
As some of you may be aware the Killjoy (Gig 20100806) and The General Electric (Gig 20100807) in Auckland last year were recorded and the schedule for them being aired on Radio NZ is set for June. The broadcast details are:
- Killjoy 4:10pm Saturday June 18th, then repeated 8:06pm Friday June 24th
- The General Electric 4:10pm Saturday June 25th, then repeated 8:06pm Friday July 1st
We are unsure how much of each show will be broadcast, but apparently will be streamed on Radio NZ's site for a few months after airing.
