Song meaning as told by Jon: "It started out as a little keyboard line on my computer that I put a message for my daughter over. It ended up being a song about communication or lack thereof and about how nothing moves or changes without it." From The Edge radio station website
Also: "'One Will Hear The Other' was actually a little conversation in my head to my daughter. She is an awesome kid. Actually, she's a young woman now, but, she's always been a shy character and I thought she was more shy than she needed to be. She needed to have more confidence in herself because she's a great person. It was actually just a little message to her saying, 'Hey, you don't need to worry. You can actually be a little more at ease with yourself.' Do you know what I'm saying? It was weird, because watching her go through high school really reminded me of how tough it is to be a teenager. I was just trying to say to her, 'We get through it.' I got through it, and the thing you learn is, everyone is actually freaking out just as much as you are. It was just a little gee-up for her, and it ended up being a little gee-up for myself. It was like, 'oh wow, yeah right.' Even though the genesis of it was a chat to her, it was a nice little reminder to myself. It ended up being very positive.
