Song meaning as told by Jon: "It's about anyone that surprises me, 'cause I like surprises, and I like it when something out of the ordinary happens. The verses are about mundane, everyday life and then it says, 'when it comes to you I must admit I'm at a loss, I'm so confused'. It's about something interesting happening, something that you can't do yourself. It's weird because musically, it's really heavy in the verses then it really opens up, so that's how I wrote it - I wrote about what I hate and what I love". Rip It Up, Oct. 1996
