We spent 2 days in Ft. Lauderdale before we played at the Culture Room and the weather ruled the whole time. Sun, Beach and good Cuban food everyday. it feels like we're in an entirely different country from the one we were in a month ago covered in snow. Jim the American, a friend of ours from Australia caught up with us before the show after winning $1200 at a 25 cent poker game so was in a good mood. I have a case of the Black Lung at the moment (coughing up bright green fleghm constantly) and I'm finding it, despite the awesome climate, really fuckin' hard to shake. this means, looking at things positively, that the show tonight is a completely manic, crazy, rockin' good time as I decide that since I won't be able to sing so hot I'd make up for it by destroying the stage in the name of rock. what made the show even better was the fact that, separately from me, Karl and Phil had decided on doing exactly the same thing so the gig was explosive!!! the Culture Room's stage is really high with a staircase that leads down (caberet style) into the moshpit which we all used throughout the show. and what a moshpit there was! the kidz went ape, I loved life and lots of people in the crowd got to play my guitar. it was all filmed by Jim the American who then proceeded to get so drunk he taped over it later on our bus with a boring conversation about bad metal bands so we're just gonna have to remember how good the show was.
